ปางช้าแม่สา ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2519 นับเป็นเวลากว่า 30 ปีแล้ว โดย คุณชูชาติ กัลมาพิจิตร ซึ่งเห็นคุณค่าในความฉลาดและความสามารถของช้าง และต้องการอนุรักษ์ช้างไทย จึงได้ก่อตั้งปางช้างแม่สาขึ้นในพื้นที่ป่าอุดมสมบูรณ์ที่อยู่ติดกับลำน้ำ แม่สาในเขตหุบเขาแม่สา และทำการซื้อช้างจากที่ต่างๆ มาเพื่อทำการฝึกและพัฒนาทักษะต่างๆ โดยมีความมุ่งมั่นที่จะเผยแพร่ความสามารถและความน่ารักของช้างเหล่านี้ ให้แก่นักท่องเที่ยว และหวังว่านักท่องเที่ยวที่มาเยือนจะเกิดความรักและตระหนักใน
