หาดกะตะ หาดกะรน
หาดกะตะ และหาดกะรน เป็นชายหาดที่มีชื่อเสียงอีกแห่งหนึ่ง ของจังหวัดภูเก็ต ขึ้นชื่อในเรื่องของความขาวสะอาด และความละเอียดของเม็ดทรายบนชายหาด ตอนเด็กๆ เวลาไปเล่นน้ำ แล้วเดินไปบนชายหาด จะมีเสียงเท้าบดทรายดังเอี๊ยดๆ เป็นที่สนุกสนานกันเลยทีเดียว อเมซิ่งไทยแลนด์จริงๆ
หาดกะตะนั้น อยู่ห่างจากตัวเมืองภูเก็ตประมาณ 17 กิโลเมตร สามารถเดินทางไปได้หลายเส้นทาง ทั้งจากชาดหาดอื่นๆ โดยใช้เส้นทางถนนรอบเกาะ และจากตัวเมืองภูเก็ต โดยใช้เส้นทางถนนเจ้าฟ้าตะวันออก จนถึงห้าแยกฉลอง แล้วค่อยเลี้ยวขวาขึ้นเขาไป หาดกะตะแบ่งออกเป็น 2 หาด คือ หาดกะตะ กับหาดกะตะน้อย
าดกะตะนั้น เหมาะสำหรับการเล่นน้ำ และฝึกดำน้ำ เนื่องจากมีแนวปะการังติดต่อกัน ไปจนถึงเกาะปู ซึ่งอยู่ด้านหน้าหาดกะตะ แต่ในช่วงมรสุม คลื่นลมจะแรง จึงอันตราย ในการลงเล่นน้ำในช่วงนี้
บริเวณชายหาดจะมี โรงแรมและที่พักหลายแห่ง รวมไปถึงบริษัทนำเที่ยว ร้านค้า แหล่งบันเทิง และ ห้องเสื้อ โดยร้านค้าส่วนใหญ่ จะเปิดให้บริการในช่วงบ่ายจนถึงค่ำ
หาดกะรน ตั้งอยู่ทางทิศเหนือของหาดกะตะ โดยมีเนินเขาเตี้ยๆ คั่นอยู่ ระยะทางจากหาดกะตะประมาณ 3 กิโลเมตร อ่าวกะรนนั้น กว้างใหญ่กว่าอ่าวกะตะพอสมควร ทำให้หาดกะรนทอดตัวเป็นแนวยาวกว่าหาดกะตะ
เอกลักษณ์ของหาดกะรน คือ ถัดจากบริเวณชายหาด จะมีเนินทรายสูงๆ ต่ำๆ มีสนทะเลต้นใหญ่ๆ และต้นตาลขึ้นเรียงรายอยู่โดยทั่วไป และถัดจากเนินทราย ก็จะเป็นถนนเลียบชายหาด ซึ่งเหมาะแก่การขับรถชมวิวเป็นอย่างยิ่ง ส่วนชายหาดกะรนนั้น คลื่นจะแรงกว่าฝั่งกะตะเล็กน้อย
ที่หาดกะรน ก็จะมี โรงแรมที่พัก ร้านอาหาร แหล่งบันเทิง ร้านค้า และ ห้องเสื้อ มาก มาย โดยบรรยากาศจะเริ่มคึกคัก ในช่วงเวลาเย็นจนถึงค่ำ และบริเวณสุดถนนเลียบหาด ก็จะมีวงเวียนกะรน ซึ่งสร้างขึ้นเพื่อจำลอง วิถีชีวิตของชาวบ้านกะรน ทั้งการประมง และทำการเกษตร
และหากจะมาเที่ยวที่ หาดกะตะและกะรนแล้ว สถานที่ที่ไม่ควรพลาดอีกแห่ง ก็คือ จุดชมวิว ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ระหว่างเส้นทางถนนรอบเกาะ จากหาดในหานไปหาดกะตะน้อย ณ จุดนี้สามารถมองเห็นทิวทัศน์ของ เวิ้งอ่าวถึง 3 อ่าว คือ อ่าวกะตะน้อย อ่าวกะตะ และอ่าวกะรน ซึ่งเป็นทัศนียภาพที่ สวยงามมาก เป็นจุดขายอีกอย่างของภูเก็ตทีเดียว หากใครมาภูเก็ต แล้วไม่ได้มาที่จุดชมวิวแห่งนี้ ถือว่ามาไม่ถึงภูเก็ตจริงๆ
สำหรับผู้ที่จะมาเที่ยวที่หาดกะตะ และหาดกะรน ขอแนะนำว่า ให้มาในช่วงเย็นๆ เพราะนอกจากจะมี บรรยากาศที่คึกคัก ของร้านรวงต่างๆ แล้ว ยังมีของดีให้ชมอีก คือ ภาพพระอาทิตย์ตกน้ำ ที่หาดกะรน ซึ่งเป็นภาพที่สวย น่าประทับใจ และหาดูได้ยากจริงๆ
